About

Maple trees, maple leaves, maple furniture and maple syrup; these items made up a big part of the life of author Sheila M. Stevenson. When Ms. Stevenson was ready to self-publish her first book Hope for Survivors of Childhood Abuse – A healing journey towards a fulfilling life, she was advised by two other prolific Canadian authors to form a separate company to handle the publishing side of the business.

The company name Sheila originally chose was very popular with too many others, as were her second, third and fourth choices. In desperation she called one of her cousins complaining about her dilemma. This cousin and her husband were about to sit down for dinner and enjoy a glass of red wine. She asked Sheila to leave it with them and they would get back to her. Knowing Sheila all her life, and familiar with the contents of her first book, it didn’t take long for them to come up with a name – Maple Haven.

The name Maple Haven is simply a perfect fit, and full of symbolism to the author. So, Maple Haven Publications it is! Ya gotta love ‘cousin collaboration’! Thanks Cous.
